Lake Sammamish Half Marathon: Race Review

Today, I ran the hilliest race of my life, and I loved it. Loved it! (I’m actually writing this on race day for once, and it’s possible I’m still a little high on adrenaline, caffeine, and sugar… but still. It was awesome.)
The San Diego Holiday Half Marathon taught me that I will probably avoid races in Southern California in future… not because it was bad, but because there’s not a lot of shade. And direct sunlight is not really my favorite thing when it comes to running 13 or so miles.
I used to be amongst the people who would have written off Pittsburgh as a spot to visit. I’m glad some friends persuaded me to give it a chance.
I can definitively say, I never would have made this without prompting… That being said! It’s really easy, the ingredients are simple (with a quick run to the nearest Asian market), and it’s a nice stovetop recipe that’s served cold — good for warmer months.
